It's difficult for Australia to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have already been conquered.

This is the team that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, along with an additional six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed over three years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, the ones sought by the peak baggers, are all that remain for a team that has won it all.

That it took as late as Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to complete their first ODI chase over 300, taking back their record for the biggest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, honestly, a compliment to the bowlers that have sported the yellow jersey over the past 50 years.

It is hard for their batters to hold a record if never given the chance.

Ultimately, the outcome of Australia allowing 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy receiving a platform to produce her latest masterpiece.

Initially recognized as the young family member of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after her country didn't secure either of the T20 or ODI World Cups held the previous year and has seen it all through 15 championship-filled years since.

A T20 World Cup win arrived three months after her first appearance and seven international trophies have resulted from 10 efforts across formats.

The gritty keeper was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India temporarily stopped the successful run.

That loss "pushed us to rethink our standards," Healy commented earlier.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the championship match and was awarded tournament MVP. She ensured her country would not come up short.

If this recent magnificent innings exceeded that prior achievement remains open for discussion.

Some will argue the argument supporting the pressure of a final. Some might respond with the test that comes when confronting a historic chase and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What's clear is this ton was far harder to see coming.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 came as she topped the run-scoring charts, but this performance followed six innings in India since the start of last month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"For those following me in practice sessions, it's been a disappointing period because it seemed my form was missing whatsoever," commented Healy.

"Yet the moment you take the field, your competitive instincts kick in and you completely engage with the match."

Healy's fighting spirit has consistently been her major advantage - and an irreplaceable characteristic in succeeding legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, out to the emerging pace bowler in all three matches, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's spark.

A single came off the bowler's initial ball and after that the right-hander was underway.

"The possibility to go out there and face the challenge with her and merely enjoy the moment that way, sort of got me going," said Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 pitches - her fastest at the global tournament - and her ton in 84 deliveries while she punished short deliveries, hitting 21 fours and three sixes.

When she was removed the team required another 66 at a run-a-ball - a manageable total now demanding an easy conclusion.

"Chasing 330 runs is unfamiliar ground so I am glad we have the confidence to achieve that now," continued Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to repeat it but, if we do, we are confident we can do it."

Those words will be the ultimate thing competing nations at this championship should hear.

During the last week a sense they will triumph from any situation has only strengthened - this triumph coming after success over Pakistan by 107 runs despite sitting at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before an encounter with longtime competitors England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a last-four spot may probably be guaranteed.

During that phase they left the previous year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a match Healy couldn't play because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the inaugural occasion at a significant event.

So great is her will, she afterwards commented she regretted not playing despite the injury.

But while she subsequently acknowledged those physical issues have postponed plans to retire, this championship is likely to be her final tournament as skipper in 50-over cricket and she is still to achieve a world championship as skipper.

Triumph in India would bring her to the top of her final mountain.
