In a surprising partnership that defies traditional expectations, the game developer has announced an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.

Strange Mission Disclosed

According to the official announcement, "A mysterious meeting leads characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new mission, where rumors of banned rituals and monstrous metamorphoses resonate through the darkness." The plot introduces a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who charges the duo with venturing into the Gemstone Grotto—a key location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her companion from a clandestine sect.

The mission focuses on "peculiar trials and a terrifying enemy" and is accessible to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Iconic Locations and Changes

The trailer features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview finishes with a dramatic sequence showing a character, likely the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Items and Additional Features

Players who accomplish the mission will acquire an exclusive katana alongside several items hidden throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:

• Titan-inspired costume for Yasuke
• Mikasa attire for Naoe
• Special arms
• Survey Corps steed

Third Free Story Addition

This update also brings the game's latest no-cost story episode, titled "The Mystery." This humorous adventure partners Naoe and Yasuke as they swap characteristic techniques: Naoe reveals a theatrical variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires subduing stealth takedowns.
